Those 2 in a hundred times we don’t make the grade, we apologize and refund the customer’s money, and hope they’ll come back again the future having found that we keep our word.
Our quality control process sets the standard for the industry. Here are some of the steps we take to maintain quality:
Choose the best artists. One of the reasons we set up our own studios was a desire to hire only the best and not be reliant on third parties who may have short-term profit as their single motivation (having been online since 2002 we’ve hopefully proved we have more of a long-term view of things!). Our artists are carefully selected for their experience, talent, attention to detail, and willingness to meet our unusually high standards. The average team member has worked with us for over a decade. Prior to joining us they would have worked professionally for years after graduating from an apprenticeship with a master artist or from the art department of an accredited university.
Choosing the most suitable artist. We’re proud of every member of our team, but if we asked an artist that specializes in Impressionist art to tackle a photo-realistic painting we’d likely be disappointed in the result. Each of our artists has a specialty, a type of art at which they excel, and we make sure that we appoint the right person for the particular job.
Quality of source image. We have over 100,000 paintings online and even then often paint from work submitted from elsewhere or from customer photographs. A key thing to consider is the quality of the source image that the artist will work from to create the painting. If it is too small or blurred, with detail obscured, the results will not be as good as if we can see all the required detail clearly. We have a large catalog of digital and physical images, and in fact one entire room of the studio is taken up with art books and high quality prints we’ve acquired over the years. The better the source image, the better the result, and we’ll be sure to communicate with you if we have any concerns.
Quality checks. Once the painting is finished, we ask the artist to go over it again to look for any issues. If they’re happy with the work, a second person is asked to check it as a fresh pair of eyes can notice thing that the artist was simply too involved to spot. We will then ask the Master Artist and the customer to review the painting (we’ll email you a photo). Only when all parties are happy is the painting sent. We’d rather catch problems BEFORE the painting leaves the studio than put people to the trouble of returning the canvas for more work. But, if the painting arrives and the customer sees something they are unhappy with we will of course remedy the problem at no extra cost.
Money back guarantee. If the painting arrives damaged, let us know – we’ll replace it as a priority. But if in the unlikely event you were dissatisfied with the painting after reviewing it in person, rest assured that it can be returned for a full refund for up to 30 days after delivery.
